Family Getaway at Legends Creekside in Whistler – Hotel Review

Last week my family and I checked into Legends Creekside in Whistler, BC for our summer getaway.

We were so looking forward to our Whistler vacation because we knew that Whistler is just as awesome in the summer as it is in winter. Whistler village has great accommodations, activities and is a well laid out for families big and small. I like the pedestrian friendly village, the parks and the overall feeling of this mountain side resort.

On this trip my family stayed in a 2 bedroom condo at Legends Creekside. This was our first time on Creekside and Legends. From the moment I walked into the lobby of Legends Creekside I knew we were going to have a good time.

The check in staff was great, shared some quick tips about the area with me and assured me that the staff were there to assist in any way.

When we walked into our suite and I was impressed at the size and overall layout of the condo. I’ve stayed in 2 bedroom condos before but this suite was bright, roomy, well appointed and had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We especially appreciated having air conditioning as the temperature outside averaged at 28 degrees during the day.

{Little Extras}

  • Kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes
  • Coffee for your first morning (in room)
  • Laundry detergent provided
  • Toiletries provided

We were so comfortable in our suite. The kids had room to run around, play and watch night time movies. Having two separate bedrooms and bathrooms was great because it gave everyone a bit of their own space when needed. Having a good kitchen when traveling as a family is a must. We prepared all our breakfasts in the room and there was plenty of room for our beverages and snacks in the fridge. I was able to relax in this suite.

{Hotel Ameneties}

  • Swimming pool with two hot tubs (one family hot tub and an adult only area)
  • BBQs for guest use
  • Kids play room (with GREAT toys, video games and more)
  • Billiards room
  • Media room with a large movie screen (you can set up a time to watch a movie of your choice – so cool)
  • Gym with change room and showers
  • Underground parking
  • Bike and Ski/Snowboard lockers

We spent a lot of time visiting shops and local eateries, otherwise most of our time was spent at the condo’s pool. In fact my kids constantly requested to “go back to the hotel to go to the pool”. The pool area is well organized, it has several long chairs, with sun and shaded areas, several patio sets where you can enjoy a meal outside and BBQs.

Legends Creekside pool   Legends Creekside Whistler I was especially impressed with the Adults Only hot tub. Like any adult I like being able to get away from all the kids at the pool and make a little time for myself, if only for 15 minutes here and there. My husband and I took turns in the adult area almost every time we were at the pool. It was nice to have a quiet area set away from all the action to enjoy the sun and relax in the hot tub. This quiet zone was well designed as its location was able to to filter much of the sound from the active pool area.

{About Creekside}

This was my first time staying at Creekside and I was very happy with it’s location. Creekside is about a 5 min drive from Whistler village. It has several condo style hotels.

Creekside also has a friendly market, a Starbucks, a Can-Ski location (where I rented a bike for one day) and several restaurants. The shopping centre is extremely convenient and is only about a 5 minute walk from Legends.

Legends Creekside is located on bike trails and directly at the bottom of the Creekside gondola. I couldn’t believe how convenient this is and could easily picture myself skiing home for lunch and getting home very quickly after a day on the slopes.

Our stay at Legends Creekside was fabulous.

We loved the location, the suite, the pool and the staff. I had a hard time leaving Legends, I could have easily stayed for a full week. My family hopes to return to Legends this winter. My goal this season is to get my daughter on skis for the first time. I feel that Legends would be a great place to stay again with my family and know that we could enjoy everything Whistler has to offer by staying at this hotel again.

I highly recommend this hotel because it’s well designed, well managed, its location is accessible and would be suitable for all Whistler visitors.
