Wash your Hands this Global Handwashing Day

October 15th is Global Handwashing day.

I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some good facts about WHY washing your hands is so important.

Important (and shocking) Handwashing facts:

  • Only 5% of people wash their hands long enough to destroy infections germs after using the bathroom
  • Your cell phone has 25,000 bacteria per square inch
  • 164 million school days are lost due to illness
  • It only takes 20 seconds to properly clean your hands with soap and water

Kids love following by example. This Global Handwashing Day, talk about the importance of proper hand washing with your kids. Demonstrate how long they should be washing their hands, the spots they shouldn’t miss and how to properly dry their hands when they are done.

In my bathrooms and kitchen you’ll always find Dial liquid hand soap. Dial has been my favourite liquid hand soap brand for a while now. I have always enjoyed the Dial scents and how their soap has always left my hands feeling soft and clean. Their liquid hand soap bottle lasts long too! Each 7.5 oz bottle has about 125 pumps per bottle.

My kids really enjoy using Dial Kids Foaming Hand Wash in their bathroom. (I’ve even found my son washing his favourite Spider-Man toy in Dial hand wash!).
