This spring and summer Canadians are invited to escape to an extraordinary world in Cirque du Soleil’s production of Varekai.
{The Synopsis}
The sky lets go a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world imbued with fantastical creatures, a young man takes flight in an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of pure and undiluted possibility, begins an inspired incantation to a life rediscovered and to a newly found wonder in the mysteries of the world and the mind.
I was lucky enough to see the premiere of this show over 10 years ago in Montreal. It was the first Cirque du Soleil show I had ever seen. I remember being blown away by Varekai. I have seen several Cirque du Soleil performances since then but nothing has ever compared to Varekai for me.
I am so looking forward to experiencing Varekai again this May in my city. I am especially excited to be bringing my husband along. He has never seen Varekai and I can’t wait to see what he thinks of it.
