Take the Fun with You with Playmobil

When I was a child I dreamed about receiving Playmobil sets as gifts. I had a friend that had a Playmobil ambulance and operating room. I remember always wanting to go play at her house, now I realize it was mostly because I wanted to play with her Playmobil sets.

Now that I’m an adult and have kids of my own I am still drawn to Playmobil and often purchase Playmobil sets for my kids. I’ve always been a fan of Playmobil because they are quality toys. It’s obvious that Playmobil pays attention to detail when they create a play set.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to test out some Playmobil sets with my kids. When the sets arrived, it felt like Christmas in August!

We received three carrying cases, two play boxes and one take along playset.

{Carrying Cases}

Playmobil carrying cases are some of my favourites sets. Carrying cases come in a small, sturdy briefcase and include everything you need to set up a fun theme.

I like Playmobil Carrying Cases because:

  • They are perfect for travel.
  • All the pieces you need to set up a fun theme are in the box.
  • Take Along sets are easy to clean up – all the pieces fit back in the briefcase and snap shut tight.
  • They are well priced.

We received two Sports & Action sets (the soccer carrying case and the multi sport carrying case) and a school carrying case. These sets are so much fun and can easily be added to any theme. My children often have all their Playmobil characters play and attend soccer and hockey games. They also make sure all the kids attend school.

{Play Boxes}

My kids received the Horse Stable play box and the Dragon Lair play box.

My daughter is crazy about horses. The Playmobil Horse stable play box is perfect for her! This play box comes with everything you need to run a stable. It includes one horse, one person and tons of accessories.

My son was in awe when he first saw the large dragon included in his Dragon Lair play box. His playset is so fun. It includes one dragon, two characters and lots of fun accessories.

I like Playmobil Play Boxes because:

  • They are compact, everything folds up and all pieces fit in the box.
  • They lock with a secret key (which is conveniently stored at the bottom of the box).
  • They are fun themes (there are currently four play boxes available).
  • They include many accessories.
  • They are very portable, perfect for travel or a sleepover at grandma and grandpa’s house.

Once my kids had their play boxes assembled they played for hours.

They always go back to their play boxes and play together (I didn’t think it was possible for horses to be friends with dragons, apparently I was wrong!). Their play boxes have gone with them to grandma’s house and will be coming with us on our next family holiday.

{Take Along Sets}

We received the City Action Police station to test out. This is my favourite set!

This set is larger than the play boxes. It comes with two police officers, a motorcycle and lots of fun accessories. I was so impressed with the size of this set and the attention to detail. Playmobil has thought of everything when designing this police station. Included in the set is a reception desk (with computer), a dispatch desk (with phone) and a jail cell (that actually locks!).

I like the Playmobil City Action Police station because:

  • It folds up and has a carry handle.
  • It’s a large size.
  • It opens up to a full size police station.
  • All the pieces fit inside the police station once it’s closed up.

The best part about Playmobil is watching my kids play together. Their imagination runs wild when they set up their Playmobil town. They help each other out to set up their town and come up with some very creative stories while playing.

I know for a fact that my daughter loves all the small accessories that come with the sets. She always uses the brush in her stable to groom her horses. She also thinks the hidden key from her play box is really cool.

All Playmobil sets require some assembly. I was impressed on how easy the instructions were to follow and how every piece snaps in easily. The sets we received are so well designed and are very sturdy once assembled. The sets we tested out are recommended for ages 4 and up.

Overall, I have to say that Playmobil sets we tested are a great investment. I like how they are easy to take with you where ever you go. I also like that all the pieces fit within their respectable box. This reduces my worry about losing accessories or characters. All the above playsets are well designed, sturdy and fun. I feel that Playmobil take along sets are priced right and make great gifts.
