Celebrate Back to School with Great Books

First day jitters. Making new friends. Meeting new teachers. These are all fears that little ones feel when September approaches.

My own children are excited but a little bit nervous about heading back to school.

Luckily I’ve been preparing them for the big day with two great books from Harper Collins Canada.

We received Chu’s First Day of School by Neil Gaiman and Adam Rex and Monster’s Love School by Mike Austin to read and enjoy. These two books are great back to school tales that my kids are loving. We’ve been reading these two books every night since we’ve received them!

Chu’s First Day of School is the story of Chu, a little panda bear. He’s nervous about his first day of school. He wants to make new friends and he wants his new friends to like him. The reader follows Chu to school and soon discovers that Chu is accepted and soon loves school, his new teacher and his new friends.

Monster’s Love School is the story of a bunch of funky looking monsters on their first day of school. Petri is worried about when lunchtime is and already thinks he knows everything. His monsters friends and teachers help him out and show him how fun school can be.

These two books are fun back to school reads and are a great addition to any home library. For more information on these two titles look for them at a book store near you or check out the Harper Collins website.
