My family loves to sit down and read a good book together. Almost everyday we sit down together and read a DK Canada book. We’ve got a great collection of DK books including DK Readers, movie Essential Guides and Character Encyclopedias and Smithsonian books.
Our very favourite DK book is a Smithsonian book. The Animal Book is the one book we pull out at almost every bed time. My kids love learning about all types of animals on our planet.
Reasons I love The Animal Book:
- The photographs are spectacular
- The definitions of each plant, animal and bird are short and easy to understand
- The scale boxes found on every page are a great way to understand the size of everything pictured
I really love reading non-fiction books with my kids. I feel that this book is a great way to introduce many species found on our planet.
The Animal Book is over 300 pages long. It has something for everyone. I highly recommend getting this book for your collection.

My boys LOVE their DK books. We have a gardening one for kids that is awesome.
