Ten years ago, my husband and I stumbled onto the grounds of the Fairmont Kea Lani. We were vacationing with our daughter, then 7 months old, and were checking out Polo Beach.
I was in awe when I saw a gorgeous white hotel with cascading flowers on oceanfront balconies. I was also swooning over the beautiful villas spread out in front of the ocean with their private plunge pools.
I made it a goal right there and then that I would one day stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani.
That dream finally came true during our last holiday on Maui in April. My family of four had the opportunity to enjoy staying in a villa at the Fairmont Kea Lani on Easter weekend and it was more than I ever imagined.
The Villas
The Fairmont Kea Lani is an all-suite and villa hotel located on beautiful Polo Beach in Wailea. There are 37 two and three-bedroom luxury villas at the resort.
We had the pleasure of staying in a three-bedroom villa.
Our villa had two full-size master bedrooms, one bedroom with two full beds, two oversized marble bathrooms, a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, dining area, living room, a washer and dryer and a private courtyard with a plunge pool, outdoor seating and eating areas and a BBQ.
I was immediately impressed with the attention to detail in our villa. It had so many extras including robes for us to use while on the property, lovely toiletries, basic items in the refrigerator (including milk, water bottles, and juices), fruits on the dining table and snacks to enjoy.
The villa has two secure entry points, the front door, and the back patio door. I really liked this because it made it easy to lock up and run off to the beach.
The layout of the villa worked so well for my family. My children loved having their own room and my husband and I liked being able to relax in the living room once the kids were in bed upstairs.
Valet parking and daily buffet breakfast are included in your villa experience.
The furnished courtyard and plunge pool were our absolute favourite part of the villa. We spent most of our time in the courtyard, jumping in the plunge pool every chance we had.
The Property and Amenities
The grounds of the Fairmont Kea Lani are very well maintained. Lush greenery and flowers are everywhere you turn.
The resort has three outdoor swimming pools including one adult-only pool. There are plenty of cushioned loungers and umbrellas at all pools. Cabanas are also available to rent.
Each time we arrived at the pool, a pool assistant would help us locate chairs. This was an extremely nice service that impressed me greatly. This is not a service that is offered at many hotels.
Clean and dry towels are readily available by the pool and SPF 50 lotion and Aloe Vera is complimentary.
The main pool has the best hotel water-slide I have ever experienced. The 140-foot slide starts at the upper pool and shoots you out and the lower pool. It has fun water features and tropical plants surrounding it. The kids and I rode the water slide a dozen times per day.
The resort has a 24-hour fitness center and Inspire Your Energy fitness and wellness classes. All classes are included in your stay.
There is a Kids Club, and snorkel equipment rentals and boogies boards are complimentary.
The resort offers many cultural activities including Lei Making and Tahitian Dancing. We had the opportunity to participate in the Crab Hunting on Sunday evening. Our entire family had so much fun chasing ghost crabs on the beach and collecting them in the buckets provided before releasing them into the ocean.
Overall
I can honestly say that our two days at the Fairmont Kea Lani were extremely special. We loved the property, amenities and our beautiful villa.
Everything was perfect.
This resort has left a big impression on us and we are planning to return every time we visit Maui.

Was the view from the upstairs GREAT? Were both bedrooms upstairs?
Yes! The view from the bedrooms was beautiful. And yes, both bedrooms were upstairs.
Wow, this looks like an amazing place
What a stunning place. I’m glad you got to check this off your goal list!
This is gorgeous! I’m afraid that a place like that is most likely a little beyond my reach but it’s lovely to live vicariously through others!
That just looks like luxury. I bet you felt like movie stars staying there!!! so special 🙂
Impressive looking hotel I will have to visit soon for sure.
Oh you’re pictures are making me so jealous. Maui Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. It’s our first year not going back and like I said, your recent trip there is making me crave it more. Looks perfect. We’ll definitely consider the villas at Fairmont Kea Lani for our next visit.
I definitely hope to get to Maui soon! Hawaii has always been on my bucket list.
Looks like where you stayed in Maui is gorgeous. I haven’t been outside of the East coast of United States, would love to stay at a place like this and travel away from home more. Lovely experience you had, thank you for sharing.
The villa sounds and looks so dreamy! I would love to
Vacation there one day 🙂
What an incredible looking resort. I’m going to have to add it to the list. We are dying to take our girls to Maui!
Everything sounds so amazing. If I ever make it to Maui (bucket list) sign me up for a stay!
Looks AMAZING! I need to get there with my girls, they’ve never been to Hawaii!
Oh wow, you are sooo lucky! I love the Kea Lani, we have been twice, but never stayed in the Villas!
OMG… I need to be there right now!!! Looks soo good!
I’m so jelly! It looks absolutely dreamy.
Wow. That’s such a gorgeous property! We stayed in Napili when we went several years ago. Maui is such a beautiful island.
Having been there as a family, I love this hotel. I haven’t yet stayed in the Villas but the idea of the plunge pool definitely makes me want to go back.
I’m making it my goal now!!
This looks beautiful. Especially the adult only pool. I love kids but mine are teens now and I have no patience for screaming toddlers while relaxing on vacation!
What a gorgeous hotel!! We have been to Maui a couple of times and I am always in awe of how much there is to do there.
