Summer is a great time to curl up with the kids outside and read a good book.
This summer, HarperCollins has great new books for you to enjoy with your kids.
I recently received Chu’s Day at the Beach, Aqualicious and In the Waves. These three books are a perfect way to celebrate summer.
{Chu’s Day at the Beach}
Chu’s Day at the Beach is a new book in the Chu series by Neil Gaiman and Adam Rex. My son loves Chu. We’ve read Chu’s First Day of School probably 100 times. I was happy to see a new Chu adventure because I needed to switch things up a bit at bedtime.
In this book Chu goes to the beach with his family. Crazy things happen after he has one of his famous sneezes.
I really liked that this book included some of the same characters as Chu’s First Day of School. I also liked how everything was made right in the end.
{Aqualicious}
Aqualicious is the latest book in the Pinkalicious series by Victoria Kann.
In this story we follow Pinkalicious as she goes to the beach and meets a tiny mermaid called Aqua. Pinkalicious and her brother Peter decide to show Aqua all kinds of fun things she can do at the beach. In the end, they realize that Aqua has to go home and help her return to her tank at the aquarium.
{In the Waves}
In the Waves is a song written by Canadian sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella (stars of the hit television show Nashville). In this book you follow two sisters who use their imagination to have a great day at the beach.
We really enjoyed this sweet story and loved the illustrations in this book. After we read the book we looked up the video for this song. My kids have listened to it endless times now!
All three books are now available at bookstores across Canada and the US. I guarantee these books will get your kids excited about summer!
