Learning to Ride with Strider from Balance Bikes Canada #review #giveaway

Summer means a lot of things to my family. Heat, relaxing, playing and exploring. One of the things my kids do a lot in the summer is ride bikes outside with their friends. Until recently, my son was joining in on his tricycle and scooter because he hasn’t graduated to a bigger bike just yet. Then Balance Bikes Canada sent us a Strider Bike to test out and review. The street hasn’t been the same since!

As soon as the Strider balance bike made it to our door our son was ready to go try it out. He’s quite the little dare devil and saw this bike as his new challenge.

The Strider balance bike took minutes to assemble. Once it was put together we headed outside to test it out.

The bike is a perfect size for my little guy. He jumps on with ease but is very cautious on the bike. I’m sure balancing on two wheels still feels very foreign to him. We take out the bike at least once a day to get him used to his new wheels. I’m sure he’ll be a pro on it by the end of summer.

Even though he’s not confident on the balance bike yet I still think its important to keep at it. Balance bikes have been proven to be safer than tricycles. Balance bikes don’t focus on pedaling, they focus on balancing. Once a child masters balancing they can skip training wheels all together!

What I love about the Strider balance bike:

  • Easy to assemble
  • Very portable (we’ve brought it along to grandmas and to the park so many times)
  • Strider balance bikes come in seven colours
  • The bike seat has a great grip for parents to hold onto
  • It’s lightweight
  • It has a low centre of gravity, the rider can always have both feet on the ground
  • It is priced right – only $124.99!
