If your family loves books as much as mine you must pick up some DK Books to add to your collection.
DK Canada recently sent my family a variety of awesome books to sample. We were thrilled when we opened the box and saw books about Diggers, Fire Trucks, a Zig Zag Trucks book and a pop-up Peekaboo! Things that Go book for my two year old son.
There was also a selection of books from their DK Readers collection for my five year old daughter. The DK Readers are designed for children that are learning to read. We received Level 1 books which have high-frequency words, picture word strips and labels to introduce and reinforce vocabulary.
Both kids love their new books.
My son especially loves his pop-up Peekaboo! book. He sits down and lights up when he turns the pages to see cars, boats and trucks pop out.
My daughter loves her new “I Want to Be a Ballerina” and ” Born to be a Butterfly” books. We read them together almost every day.
DK books are known for their non-fiction books. This is very important to me as I notice that most of my children’s books are fiction. Kids love to read about real people, places and things. DK books make reading non-fiction interesting. They do a wonderful job at including stunning photographs and illustrations in all their books. They carry thousands of books that comprise of board books for little ones to travel books for adults.
You can purchase DK books on their website and at bookstores across Canada. Their books are very well priced and are all very good quality. I can already tell that the books we received will be passed on from child to child.
Follow DK books on Facebook and Twitter and stay in the loop about new releases and special offers.

My daughter would like Real-Size Baby Animals
This is a tough one because 1. I find them all educational 2. My kids love them. 3. They’re Canadian! My first dictionary (http://cn.dk.com/static/cs/cn/11/nf/features/my-first-dictionary/index.html) would be useful as we’ve started teaching them French (they already speak English and Spanish). Pictures are really useful.
