Last night my daughter and I went to see Strawberry Shortcake: Follow your Berry Own Beat at our local theatre.
Moms and little girls filled the theatre all excited to see Strawberry in her first theatrical live show.
When the curtains opened we were transported to Very Berry City. We loved the bright colours that filled the stage. We noticed the cool strawberry and lemon shaped guitars right away. Music was blasting and the girls came out and sang the title song of the show “Follow Your Berry Own Beat”.
The costumes were wonderful. Everything from the hair to the dress to the shoes were great. Every actor depicted their character perfectly. The choreography was fun and energetic.
The fun started when Huckleberry Finn announced to Strawberry Shortcake and the gang that Very Berry City will be hosting a talent show. All the characters were excited about participating and all started working on their numbers. There were many funny moments and a great final number when all the friends came together to do one big performance.
Some of our favourite songs included “Think Big” and “Say it Loud”.
Throughout the show kids were encouraged to dance in the aisles, to shout out answers and sing along. The show was very engaging and lots of fun.
We loved the show! It has us clapping, dancing and singing!

My daughters and I saw the show together and really enjoyed it. I just wished that we had actually seen the talent show at the end – would have been cute, I’m sure!
