Get Crafty with DK Canada

This month DK Canada is celebrating everything that’s crafty.

Like most elementary school teachers – I love being crafty. I love seeing my own children and students get creative.

DK Canada sent me three awesome books from their Craft Boutique. I must admit, it was very difficult for me to choose just a few books to sample – I wanted so many titles from the Craft Boutique.

In the end I chose The Big Book of Crafts and Activities, Doodlepedia Pretty and My Art Book

{The Big Book of Crafts and Activities}

This book is jam-packed with all kinds of cool activities. It has a large variety of projects that my daughter can’t wait to try. On the top of our list is making Bath Bombs, Banana Pancakes and Glove Change Purses.

Each activity is very clearly explained with step by step instructions and pictures. There is something for every crafty child in this book.

This is a great book to take out when your son or daughter is having a sleepover or play date. It has so many great activities to do with your child.

{Doodlepedia Pretty}

We love love love this book! I had seen similar books before but never purchased one for my daughter. Wow, what a mistake. As soon as my daughter opened this book she was hard at work. This book is filled with pretty doodles to complete. It also has great facts on every page.

Doodles include adding hats to pretty ladies, designing a scene on a stage and drawing hummingbirds.

Doodlepedia Pretty is 96 pages so it will keep any doodler busy for a long time. There are five Doodlepedia books in the collection and I can honestly tell you that I will be buying them all. I strongly believe these books make great gifts – I might even pick some up for Christmas gifts!

{My Art Book}

As a teacher, I’ve seen lots of art project books. I’ve searched on the internet for ideas and very rarely come across a cool new idea. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened My Art Book and saw TONS of projects I wanted to do with my students. I was so excited that I prepped an art lesson for the next day the minute I finished looking through My Art Book.

I decided to do the Paint a town project with my students. The instructions were very easy to follow. I cut lots of cool shapes for my students and introduced the project with a sample that I made and showing them the pages from My Art Book. My students were so excited to get started and LOVED the project.
