Get Busy with the LeapBand by LeapFrog #MBSgiftguide

By now you may have heard about the LeapBand by LeapFrog. The LeapBand is a fun watch for kids that gets them moving, jumping and having fun.

My kids were thrilled to have the opportunity to try out the LeapBand for my gift guide this year.

When you first open the LeapBand you need to set it up. This is relatively easy. You start by plugging in the LeapBand to your computer and connecting it to LeapFrog Connect. You then set up the LeapBand by following the instructions on your computer screen.

The LeapBand is then ready to go. When you first turn on the LeapBand you can choose from 8 virtual animals. You can choose from a cat, dog, dragon, monkey, panda, penguin, robot or unicorn. You can also customize your animal by choosing it’s colour and naming it. My daughter chose the cat and named it Princess Kitty.

{Earn Joules}

Every move your child makes earns valuable joules. The joules can be redeemed for fun virtual rewards for their animal by connecting your LeapBand to the computer. You can see how many joules your child has by connecting your LeapBand to LeapFrog Connect.

Joules also earn you new pets to play with and take care of. Your original pet always remains the captain.

LeapFrog Connect

{Quiet Times}

Parents can control when a child can play with the LeapBand by selecting specific times on the LeapFrog Connect site. I love this feature! My child knows she can’t play with her LeapBand during school days and after 8pm. If necessary, it’s easy to change the time on the LeapFrog Connect site.

  1. This sounds cool! My husband and I have been exercising lately so our girls are excited about it, but we’ve found it harder to find a good “exercise” program for them. This just might work… we’ve got other LeapFrog products that we love so I know it’s a good company. 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I’m gonna check this out. 😉

  2. This is what I’m wanting to get my kids for Christmas this year but I’m not sure if I should buy them each one or just get one….
    I guess the idea is that they wear them all day? But my 2 year old wouldn’t be able to use it yet…Maybe I should just get the 6 and 4 year old one each.

  3. Great review. Love that helps tell the time and the parental controls. I would be happy knowing that they couldn’t play with it during school hours.
