We recently received two extremely special dolls from My Friend Huggles. My children were overjoyed when they saw Bia and Myles for the first time.

My daughter already knew all about My Friend Huggles. She discovered me browsing the My Friend Huggles website a few months ago and just fell in love with these life size dolls.

My Friend Huggles dolls are not just life-sized dolls. They are dolls that represent an important character building value. There are eight My Friend Huggles dolls in all (including two special edition dolls).

We received Bia who is fair for my daughter and Myles who has courage for my son. Each doll’s value is explained on a satin ribbon on they back.

Being fair means, take turns, play by the rules and be friends with everyone. Accept other people’s differences. Being fair is easy. Let’s do it together!

You must have courage to be brave. Try new things, don’t be afraid! Ask my twin Mimi, she’ll help you along. With both of our virtues you will always be strong!

My children and I have read these values many times. It’s nice to have them permanently fixed on the dolls so we can refer to them when play time isn’t going great or if there’s a problem with friends.

My daughter immediately started playing mommy to Bia. Bia started to follow my daughter everywhere in and out of the house. We’ve brought Bia out for coffee with us and often bring her to the park. A bed was soon prepared for her in my daughter’s room. Bia also fit some of my daughter’s old clothing. My big girl is having a blast changing Bia’s outfits as she pleases.

My son loves a good hug from Myles but also loves to make him “fly” around the house. He follows his sister and Bia around and plays “family” and school with Myles.

Believe me when I say these dolls are very special. Their beautiful faces, hair and outfits draw children in. They are so different from any doll my children own.

{Learn and Play with Huggles Online}

My Friend Huggles has a great website geared to children. On this site children are prompted to choose a doll and a value. I decided to go through all the values with my daughter. All the situations described helped us talk about how it is important to treat others like you want to be treated. Once children choose a value they are given a challenge. Once you’re done the challenge you can go back and fill out a short questionnaire. After the questionnaire you are able to print a certificate.

{Awards and Giving Back}

My Friend Huggles dolls have received a lot of media attention. They have recently received the PTPA Seal of Approval.

My Friend Huggles also supports the Starlight Foundation – a charitable organization dedicated to bringing laughter, joy and hope back into the lives of children with serious illnesses. My Friend Huggles will donate 1000 dolls to the Starlight Foundation to distribute to sick kids across Canada.

In our world filled with electronics and flashy toys its nice to see a doll that makes a difference and teaches your child something. This doll makes the top of my gift guide list for so many reasons this year. We already have two My Friend Huggles dolls but I would consider purchasing more!
