Introduce PrismPals and make Learning Math Fun!

Geometry is a big part of the math curriculum that I teach every year. Kids generally have fun learning the names of shapes, creating shapes, sorting them and seeing them in our everyday world.

This year, I’ll be adding a new manipulative to my geometry lessons – I’ll be introducing PrismPals!

Prismland consists of 5 plush toy characters, the PrismPals, each in the shape of a different 3D solid. Theses super soft prisms all have cool names: Spherrison, Rhonda, Cubert, Hexter and Pyri. Each PrismPal has a cute expression on their face – I especially like Pyri’s little wavy smile.

We received all 5 PrismPals to check out. My kids went nuts when I opened the box! They are so in love with the shapes and have spent hours playing with them. I am very impressed on how well each PrismPal is made, how soft they are and I really like their large size.

What I like about PrismPals:

  • Each PrismPal has a cute name (Cubert is my favouite!)
  • Kids positively associate math and geometry with tactile characters
  • Each toy comes with a character-specific booklet

I really look forward to introducing my grade 2 and 3 students to the PrismPals! I’m sure they will connect with them and enjoy learning about geometry with them. The Prismland website offers many free activities and lesson plans for educators. I’ll be using these with my students.

  1. I’m pretty sure my son would love Cubert the most because he has a funny name. My daughter would like Spherrison because he looks extra cuddly 🙂

  2. Mine would just love Rhonda. She’s got attitude and is such a cool shape for a toy!! I also really like how non gendered these are. <3

  3. oops, and the why….it looks like it would be the most cuddly, and I think it would likely end up being a fave cuddle friend.

  4. I think my son would like Spherrison as he is just starting to learn shapes and “ball” is now part of his vocabulary.

  5. I’m choosing Rhonda for my granddaughter, her bio sounds just like my granddaughter too and this is one she would enjoy!!

  6. Hextor because our little preschooler loves math just like him. Constantly quizzing is on addition and subtraction

  7. I think my little girl would love Rhonda because there aren’t many toys shaped that way 🙂 as a math teacher these would also be amazing for my grade 9 classroom as well 🙂
