Get to know Sofia the First: Book and App review

Has your little girl heard of Sofia the First yet?

Sofia is Disney’s newest little princess. She’s a seven year old girl who’s mother just married the King of Enchancia. Sofia has to learn how to be a princess with the help of Flora, Fauna and Merryweather of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.

My daughter was so excited when we received the Sofia the First book and the Sofia the First: Story Theatre App to try out.

The Sofia the First book is gorgeous. This book has so many beautiful details.

What we love about the book:

  • The title of the book is embossed on the hard cover – its beautiful!
  • Special words are written in a fancy fonts (princess and amulet to name a few)
  • The sweet new princess story
  • The beautiful art work

We have read this book so many times. It has become one of my daughter’s number one requests at bedtime.

The Sofia the First: Story Theatre App is also so fun.

What we love about the App:

  • The story is read in Sofia’s voice
  •  The App has lots of interactive effects
  • The App also has a very fun puppet theatre game

My daughter loves creating her own plays after reading the book. The best part about the puppet theatre game is that you can record your voice to go along with your show. My daughter is crazy about this feature and is creating scenes constantly. She loves hearing her voice tell her version of Sofia the First.

The Sofia the First: Story Theater App just won a PTPA award!

Your family is sure to fall in love with Sofia the First like we did! The Sofia the First book is available wherever books are sold for $17.49CAD. You can purchase the Sofia the First: Story Theatre App from the iTunes store for only $3.99.

  1. The book looks amazing. I wish I had a daughter or even a niece! I just caught an episode of Sofia this past weekend and I was hooked. I wonder if I can sneak in a couple of shows for me while my son takes a nap?

  2. We haven’t seen this yet, but my 3 year old is in love with anything princessy. Thanks for the review! The book looks beautiful.
