Get Crafty with a Curiosity Box Subscription

Last month my kids and I received the At the Zoo Curiosity Box.

What’s a Curiosity Box you ask? It’s a monthly subscription box you receive at your doorstep filled with 3 crafts and 1 activity. Every month has a theme. Curiosity Boxes are designed for kids aged 3-7.

We loved our box from the moment we opened it. Inside our box were two packages or crafts, one for each of my children, an instruction booklet and extra games and activities. My kids were drawn to the Zoo theme right away.

{Project 1: Sand Art}

We decided to start with the Sand Art project. I’m a bit embarrassed to say that we had never done a sand art project before. My kids were all over this project. To begin we placed parchment paper under our animal picture. I explained how we would be adding sand to our picture and we were ready to go. I liked that the animal design was on a piece of card stock. I also liked that it was relatively easy to do. All we had to do was peel stickers and pour coloured sand on the shapes. I loved giving my kids creative freedom on what colour went where. Both their projects turned out great.

{Project 2: Puppet}

The second project we did from our Curiosity Box was a Giraffe Sock Puppet. My kids love putting on puppet shows for us so this was a fun activity. My kids loved sticking on the giraffe’s spots. I helped with all the other pieces. Their puppet turned out great and they’ve had lots of fun using them in their puppet shows.

{Project 3: Lacing Animal Craft}

The last project we did was the Lacing Animal Craft. My daughter was so into this and even took the time to help her little brother lace his animal. Our lacing craft turned out great. I love that this was a mess free project. You could easily take this project with you when you visit grandma’s house or on a trip.

My kids also loved all the little bonus things in their box. They each had mini animal notepads and crayons, a monkey slinger and a fun pop up animal and a stamp.

Reasons I love Curiosity Box:

  • The box comes with 3 age appropriate crafts
  • The box is different every month – you never know what you’re going to get!
  • The extra activities are so fun
  • You can complete your crafts on your own timeline (we took 2 weeks to complete everything)
  • The kids look forward to receiving mail

You can purchase single Curiosity Boxes or sign up for a 3 month, 6 month or 1 year subscription. Curiosity Boxes are designed for one child. For a small fee a second package can be included in your box. I liked that our two packages weren’t exactly the same. To my surprise, there was no fighting about who got what. (I’m thinking this was because my children’s names were on each of the bags)

If you’ve got a crafty kid or you don’t feel like running out to the craft store every time you want to get creative with your children then this is the subscription for you.

I can guarantee hours of fun with each Curiosity Box.
